The Secrets on How to Look Young

Getting old minus the ugly wrinkles and fine lines that come with it will not require an expensive surgical treatment of injectable filler or even the help of expensive trainers and dieticians. We asked some of the experts to share their secrets in staying young.  Most of their advice will help you to look fabulous and fresh every day.  By choosing small yet smart decision daily, you can age gracefully without looking stressed.

Smile More Often

In one study, participants who belong in a different age bracket were asked to analyse a picture of different women and asked them to guess the right age of the women in the picture.  People who are exhibiting a neutral expression will provide an accurate age result, and those who are showing sign of fear will look older.  Those people with happy face were given a younger rating compared to their current age.

Eat Grapes

Berries, plums, pears and grapes contain a compound called Sorbitol.  This compound is considered humectants.  It doesn’t only give the sweet taste of the fruits, but it also has the capacity to retain water which makes your skin supple and smooth.

Retouching Your Hair

One of the elements that make us look older would be our thinning hair.  Try to find a product that can add volume to your hair.  If the thinning of your hair is inevitable, the lighter colour will make it less obvious.  Try to ask for a deep conditioning hair treatment that can prevent hair dryness.

Make Sure to Keep Your Skin Clean and Moisturised

Moisturising and cleaning your skin will protect it from the harmful elements and will guarantee its wellness.  However, we do not recommend you to use your daily soap as it can dry your skin, especially for the older people.  We highly suggest that you choose a good cleanser that will gently cleanse your skin and will not affect the moisture level of your skin.  Try to keep away from the toners particularly those that contain alcohol and astringent.  Look for a quality moisturiser that you can apply during the day and before you sleep at night.

Eat Reds and Greens

Green vegetables contain a rich amount of Vitamin K which prevents bruising and pigmentation.  Tomatoes have a high amount of lycopene that protects your skin from the harmful UV rays that can excessively damage your skin.

Oily Fish

Oily fish such as salmon is packed with an adequate source of dimethylaminoethanol.  This compound can boost the tone of the muscle, and it is a prevalent ingredient on the premium quality skin creams.  By eating oily fish at least twice every week, we can experience the same magic of this compound.

If you think you look older than your actual age, the steps above will help you look younger and feel better about yourself.
